A word of thanks from the festival curator - Kuldip

What a fantastic achievement! This years festival was arguably the best to date! Absolutely brilliant music from some great bands and musicians; it made me feel so humble considering that they came to play for the same reason why we organise it :- for the sheer love of music. I was also very pleased to see that the town came out and supported us in great numbers and feel that we have now 'cemented' our place in the musical calendar.

Acknowledgments:

Firstly what a great team the organisers are! Alwyn Wesson-Caberwal, Carrie Ellis and myself with continued support from the webmaster, Mr Rob Dunsford. You guys put this together, massive thanks. To the bands and solo acts, I am still totally overwhelmed by your generosity and willingness to come and play! At your own expense, accepting that we had no funds, you came and made this festival come alive and made this town rock! I have heard nothing but good, positive feedback from the public and venues. I do not know where to begin to thank you, you leave me speechless.
Behind the scenes even more people came and did their bit; Sound engineers, Izzy and his crew, Harlie Wesson-Caberwal, DJ'S Andy Eaton, Henry Wesson - you all did a great job. Thanks also to Mark Fitch for allowing me to 'steal' his PA...again! Big love to my daughter Bryony Jo who helped stage manage for me, thanks hun. I must also mention my old school mate Martin Mitchel for doing so much 'donkey work', cheers dude. All the Fest Fairies who gave up their time to help out on the day, Pam, Bryony, Tim, Maddi, Anneliese, Nia, Katie, Sarah, Yvonne, Georgina, Daz, Hannah, Manda, Sue, Megan. The stage managers :- Luke Day at The Crown; Harlie Wesson-Caberwal & Grace Moore at Signature; Tom Hamer at The Wellington; Joe Cox & Ian Smith at The Pheasant. Not forgetting Rees Wesson for the use of his front lawn & toilet facilities for the happy campers.
Massive thanks to the pubs for use of their premises, especially those that stepped in at the last minute and 'saved our bacon' - I hope you all enjoyed the music and your tills rang out nicely. This festival could not be without you.
Last but by no means least, you the public who came out in your hundreds to support this event. You are all stars and I hope to see you all again and again as this venture grows into a monster of epic proportions.
I love what I do and I love you all for what you all did but mostly, I love music and that's why we do this. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we can do it all again....soon!
Much love too you all,
Kuldip

The Welshpool Music Festival Committee are proud to announce the return of the Music Festival for its third year. Excellent music will be played at many venues across the town on Sunday 29th May. We welcome you all to come and enjoy a truly entertaining day of live music.

Welshpool Music Festival uses all the towns pubs as different venues each of which hosts a different style of music over a three day period, eg The Crown-Folk Music, The Talbot-Reggae, The Westwood-Dance & Ska, The Pheasant-Rock etc.

We also have back to back music all day long, band/solo artist on two stages from mid-day to mid night. We have street entertainers, buskers, stalls, everything is indoors so no mud or rain to worry about, we are family/child friendly, we book a complete diverse array of music to cater for all tastes.

Our aim is to provide a comprehensive bank holiday weekend of entertainment to suit every age group and every style, the seed was planted last year and now we watch to see it grow into something totally unique placing Mid Wales and Welshpool firmly onto the musical map. Come and join us, relax and have fun and remember, Monday is also the towns carnival day. Please contact me for futher details.
Many thanks,
Kuldip
